Do you really know Thorsten Wahle, Assistant Professor of Management and Organization at SKEMA Business School? Let’s check it out!

The renowned economist you would like to have dinner with: Richard H. Thaler.

The film that everyone should have watched at least once: The Big Lebowski

Your reference book in the field of decision making: The essence of decision by Graham T. Allison. The book is a great illustration of how organisations actually make decisions.

Your favourite social media: None. But I do use Bluesky and LinkedIn occasionally.

What you like best about being a professor: The freedom to work on projects that interest me and the opportunity to work with really talented people in different countries.

The country you dream to explore: I’d love to explore Egypt more though I have been there twice. It is just fascinating to get lost in historical sites that feature amazingly preserved layers from all the different periods of Egyptian history.

The last books you read: Cuba Libre by Elmore Leonard, The Inheritance of Rome by Chris Wickham, and my twins’ favourite, The Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang.

Whether you are a supporter of AI or not: AI tools will be a reality whether you support them or not. I do find them helpful already when it comes to translating code across programming languages or for checking formal arguments.

Your favourite way of unwinding:  Playing “soccer” with my 2-year-old twins (even though I am a very unathletic player).

The best piece of advice you have received regarding academia: This career is not for you (I didn’t take it).
